Hinkle Roofing is a family owned business which was opened by Bob & Betty Hinkle in 1968. At first they operated their business out of their home but later expanded and purchased a warehouse on San Benito Avenue in downtown Gerber. In 1981 they purchased the old Minch's Feed lot. With much hard work they converted the old grain elevator into an office where the business has been operating ever since. In 1998 Mr. Hinkle partially retired becoming the consultant to Todd Eklund and Bruce Peabody, his sons-in-law, who took over the business. They added residential construction to the list of services.
